Lubsza, Opole Voivodeship
The Gmina Lubsza is a rural municipality in the powiat Brzeski in the Polish Opole Voivodeship. Seat of the municipality is the village Lubsza ( German: Leubusch ).
Geography
The municipality includes the north of the county town Brzeg ( Brieg ). In the east it borders the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
With an area of 212.71 km ² 47 % of its territory is used for agriculture, 46 % is covered by forest. The municipality is situated on the Oder and was inundated by the flood of 1997 to 69%. Part of the Stober Landscape Park Stobrawski Landscape Park extends to the municipality.
History
From 1973-1975 the church was located in Lubsza, but was called Gmina Pisarzowice. In November 1975, the community was renamed after the parish seat in Lubsza.
