Luc Cyr

Luc Cyr ( born November 21, 1953 in Saint- Jérôme ) is Archbishop of Sherbrooke.

Life

Luc Cyr received on 29 August 1980 the ordination to the priesthood. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 10 May 2001 as Bishop of Valleyfield.

The Archbishop of Montreal, Cardinal Jean- Claude Turcotte, donated to him on June 17 of the same year the episcopal ordination; Gilles Cazabon, OMI were co-consecrators, Bishop of Saint- Jérôme, and Robert Lebel, retired Bishop of Valleyfield.

As a motto he chose Un seul coeur, une seule âme. On 26 July 2011 he was appointed Archbishop of Sherbrooke and introduced into the office on September 29 of the same year.
