Lucie Décosse

Lucie Decosse ( born August 6, 1981 in Chaumont (Haute- Marne) ) is a French judoka, Olympic champion and three times World Champion. She stepped up to 2008 mostly in the light middleweight at that weight class up to 63 kg, and since 2009 she starts middleweight to 70 kilograms. She is an officer of the French National Order of Merit.

Career

Lucie Decosse won the 1998 bronze medal at the World Youth Games in Moscow, 2000, she won at the Junior World Championships in Nabul. In 2001 she won the World Cup tournament in Paris its first major tournament victory in the adult class, in early 2002 she won the European Championships in Maribor. After seventh places at the 2003 World Championships and the 2004 European Championships took DeCosse at the Olympic Games in 2004 to seventh place.

In 2005 she won two international medals: by bronze at the European Championships in Rotterdam she won at the World Championships in Cairo in the final against Ayumi Tanimoto of Japan. In 2006, she lost the final of the European Championships in Tampere against the Briton Sarah Clark, in September 2006, they won in Paris the World Team Championship title. 2007 won DeCosse at the European Championships in Belgrade, at the 2007 World Championships she lost the final against Driulis Gonzalez from Cuba. 2008 won DeCosse in Lisbon her third European title; a rematch for the World Cup Final 2005 took place at the 2008 Olympic Games held in the final, Tanimoto defeated DeCosse after 1:26 by Ippon.

After changing the middleweight division, she won the European Championships in 2009 in Tbilisi in this weight class. 2010 and 2011 she won the world title in each case, at the European Championships in 2011 she was awarded the bronze medal. Her biggest success was her victory in the final battle against Kerstin Thiele at the Olympic Summer Games 2012 in London.
