Ludes

Ludes is a commune in the Marne department in the Champagne- Ardenne region. It is located approximately twelve kilometers from Reims and Epernay on the route between the two cities at the foot of the Montagne de Reims, the Côte du vignoble champenois. Ludes counts 627 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011), called Ludéens and Ludéennes as well as an industrial company, 100 wineries, seven artisans, four shops and a restaurant. The main employer is Canard Duchêne -, a well-known champagne cellar.

History

Its history goes back to the 9th century, where you will find LUCIDA ( 818) LUSDIA ( 1216 ) and LUDE ( 1220 ). Etymology: Ludes can Ludus "game" or of Lucus ' winning wood " and may come from lux 'light'. Saint Vincent of Paul preached there in 1645., The Duke of Lorraine the city burned down in 1652. Twinning

Sörgenloch in Germany since 1991 / 1992. Signing of the deeds in 1991 in Sörgenloch by Mayor Dr. Gerhard Wagner and 1992 in Ludes by Edmond Maire Forget.

In the context of an ever closer Europe grows, the good town-twinning relationships between Ludes and Sörgenloch be continued and expanded continuously. The partnership is organized in Ludes by the Comité de Jumelage, whose president Regis Quatresol is.
