Ludwig von Lützow (politician)

Ludwig von Lützow ( born July 25, 1793 in Ludwigslust, † May 13 1872 in Boddinstraße; Complete name: Ludwig Friedrich Wilhelm von Lützow ) was a Mecklenburg statesman and politician.

Life

Ludwig von Lützow was the son of the Duke of Mecklenburg, Mecklenburg Oberhof master and ambassador at the Prussian court in Berlin, August von Lützow ( 1757-1835 ). He studied law from April 1812 at the University of Rostock and from 1816 at the University of Göttingen. During his studies, he joined both the Corps Vandalia Rostock as well as the Corps Vandalia Göttingen. After completing his legal training, he joined in 1816, the country's ministry of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg -Schwerin and was in 1822 appointed to the Executive Council. With the throne by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich, he was on May 6, 1837 Suffers second Minister and President of the Government, first on July 6, 1840 Minister and Privy Council.

1848/49 Member of the Constituent Assembly of Delegates for the electoral district Ventschow counted Lützow the protagonists of a constitutional government in Mecklenburg, which provided for a government ministry. The new, liberal Mecklenburg Constitution, the Basic Law came into effect on October 10, 1849 in part of the country Mecklenburg-Schwerin in force. Lützow was married since May 27, 1819 Sophie von Brandenstein ( 1796-1876 ), a daughter of Geheimerratspräsidenten, ( First ) Minister of Mecklenburg -Schwerin and landowner on Ganzow, August Georg von Brandenstein ( 1755-1836 ).
