Luis MartÃnez (boxer)
Luis Felipe Martínez (short: Luis Martínez ) ( born May 26, 1955) is a former Cuban boxer.
Martínez was Cuban Champion 1975, 1976 and 1978 in the middleweight ( -71 kg ).
In 1974 Martínez in Caracas, the Silver Medal of the Central American and Caribbean Championships. At the Olympic Games in 1976 he won after beating Fulgencio Obelmejias, Venezuela (5-0 ), Bernd Wittenburg, DDR (3:2), and Dragomir Vujković, Yugoslavia (5-0 ), and a Halbflinalniederlage against Rufat Riskijew, Soviet Union ( 3:2 ), the bronze medal.
1977 Martínez won the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Panama City. At the World Championships the following year he reached the final, which he lost to Viktor Savchenko, Soviet Union, 3-2 judges votes.
