Luis Miguel DominguÃn
Luis Miguel González Lucas, known as Luis Miguel Dominguín ( born November 9, 1926 in Madrid, † May 8, 1996 in San Roque, Cádiz Province), was a famous bullfighter and matador since 1944. He was the son of the famous matador Domingo Dominguín (actually, Domingo González ) and took over the well-known and famous in bullfighting circles artist name. Dominguín is considered an important Torero and was also a prominent public figure in Spain.
Career as a bullfighter
Luis Miguel Dominguín considered one of the best and most popular matadors of the 1940s and 1950s. He made his debut as a torero ( novillero ) with twelve years in the bullring Campo Pequeno in Lisbon. His Alternativa, the elevation to the rank of a " matador de toros ", was on 2 August 1944 in A Coruña with Domingo Ortega. Apparently he had previously at the age of fifteen years, a regular bullfight (not for young animals ) denied in Bogotá. On August 28, 1947, he was part of the contingent of the bullfight in Linares, in which the bullfighter Manolete was killed.
His rivalry in the arena with his brother in law Antonio Ordóñez was held by Hemingway in Dangerous Summer. Hemingway and Dominguín first met in 1953 on Dominguíns Finca near Cuenca know and also met several times later.
He returned again in 1971, the arena back in 1973 and ended officially his bullfighting career.
Private and social life
Dominguín married in 1955, the Italian actress Lucia Bosé. They had met in the same year, when Bose had come to the shooting of the film Muerte de un ciclista by Juan Antonio Bardem to Spain. Together they had three children, the famous singer Miguel Bosé, Lucía, now businessman, and Paola, the fashion model and today was with her mother passes an angel Museum in Turégano, Segovia. 1968 parted Dominguín and Bosé. Dominguín married in 1987 again, this time Rosario Primo de Rivera, niece of General Miguel Primo de Rivera.
Dominguín was - even during the Franco regime - as a sympathizer of socialism and was friends with, among others, Pablo Picasso. During his playing days, he took part outside of the bullfighting season hunting parties Franco. He was known as a seducer and aims, among other affairs with Ava Gardner, María Félix, Lana Turner, Rita Hayworth and Lauren Bacall have had.
He is portrayed next to other Jorge Semprún novel Twenty years and one day on the postfranquistische society of the 1950s.
