Lukáš Šembera

Lukáš Šembera (born 16 October 1992 in Brno ) is a former Czech motorcycle racer.

Career

Lukáš Šembera began his racing career in 2000 on Supermotos. In 2003 he moved to the mini bikes, 2005 and 2006 he raced in 125 cc categories of national championships in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. His international career began Šembera 2007 Red Bull Rookies Cup, which he finished in 15th.

His debut in the motorcycle world championship he gave in 2008 at his home Grand Prix, the Grand Prix of Czech Republic in Brno. The Czech started as a wildcard rider in the Italian private Matteoni Racing team on an Aprilia and reached rank 17

In the following season Šembera went as a regular driver for Matteoni in the 125cc World Championship at the start, without, however, being able to retract points.

On 19 September 2009, Lukáš Šembera moved in a crash during the Olympic supermoto night show, a promotional event in his hometown of Brno so severe vertebral fractures, that he has since been paralyzed and had to end his career 16 years old.
