Luminița Talpoș

Luminiţa Talpos ( born October 9, 1972 in Craiova ) is a Romanian long-distance runner.

1999 and 2004 she was Romanian Champion in road races, and at the World Half Marathon Championships in 1999, she was eighth.

In a marathon, the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis, she took the 18th place. Earlier this year, she took sixth place at the Osaka Women's Marathon with 2:27:32 hours.

In 2007 she won the Vienna City Marathon. In the road race World Championships 2007, she was in her half marathon best of 1:09:01 h Eighth; it was therefore the best European -born in this race.

In 2008 she won again in Vienna with her personal best of 2:26:43 h
