Luque

Luque ( Guaraní Luke ) is a district town in the Central Department in Paraguay.
The city has established 224,000 inhabitants (calculated 2006) and was the Spanish Conquistador Juan Diez de Andino in 1636.
Geography
Luque is on a plane between the Ypacaraí Lake and the Río Paraguay.
Economy and Transport
Located northwest of the city center is the largest Paraguay Aeropuerto Internacional Silvio Pettirossi airport.
In the city you can still find well-preserved buildings from the colonial era. The city in Paraguay is known for its harp and guitar making and for gold and silver metalwork.
Football
The South American Football Confederation CONMEBOL has its headquarters in Luque.
In Luque two-time football champions Club Sportivo Luqueño is home to the plays in the Primera División.
