Lužnice (Jindřichův Hradec District)

Lužnice ( German Luschnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 23 km north-east of the center of České Budějovice and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

The place is located below the Rosenberg - the pond on the left bank of the Lainsitz ( Lužnice ), which gave the village its name. West of the nature reserve Velky and Maly Tisy lies with a number of other large and small fish ponds.

Neighboring towns are Klec in the north, Kolence and Novosedly nad Nežárkou in the northeast, MLAKA in the east, Stara Hlína and Nová Hlína the southeast, Holičky, Trebon and Břilice in the south, Preseka the southwest, Horni Slověnice in the west and Lomnice nad Lužnicí in the northwest.

History

Was first documented in the village Luznicz 1371st The place belonged to Lomnitzer good of Landsteiner, a line of Víteks. 1435 brought back Ulrich von Rosenberg Lužnice by the Hussites and divided the village into the Toeboo one. 1660 were the Schwarzenberger owner of Lužnice. Between 1830 and 1833 the first school house was built. 1840 449 people lived in the houses consisting of 49 place.

In the years 1869 to 1872 was the construction of the railway. 1890 Luschnitz was flooded by a strong flood of Lainsitz. In 1900, the population had grown to 588. Beneath the bank of the Rose works pond a power plant in 1922 was created.

In 1976, the annexation took place after Lomnice nad Lužnicí. Since 1 July 1990 Lužnice is a municipality again.
