Lydia Dunn, Baroness Dunn

Lydia Selina Dunn, Baroness Dunn, DBE, JP (Chinese邓 莲 如/邓 莲 如, Pinyin Deng Lianru, Jyutping dang6 LIN4 jyu4; * February 29, 1940 in Hong Kong ) is a British politician, business manager and life peer.

Life and career

Dunn was born in 1940 in Hong Kong, the daughter of Yen Chuen Yih Dunn and Bessie Dunn. She attended St. Paul 's Convent School in Hong Kong and the College of the Holy Names and the University of California.

She joined the Swire Group in 1964 and was from 1978 to 2003 Director of John Swire & Sons ( Hong Kong) Ltd. and since 1981 director of Swire Pacific Ltd.. Since 1996 she has been Director of John Swire & Sons Ltd.. From 1985 to 1997 she was Director of Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., 1997-2002 Advisor to the Board. In 1990, she became a Non-Executive Director and held that post until 2008. 1992 Dunn Deputy Chairman ( Deputy Chairman ) of the HSBC Group. It remained this until 2008. Dunn was also a non-executive Director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited from 1981 to 1996. Political career in Hong Kong
