Lyn Murray

Lyn Murray ( born December 6, 1909 in London, † May 20, 1989 in Los Angeles, native Lionel Breeze ) was an American composer, arranger and conductor.

Biography

Lyn Murray was born in 1909 in London as Lionel Breeze. His father emigrated in 1923 to the United States. Followed in 1925 and the family he grew up in Philadelphia. Lyn Murray studied at the Juilliard School and with Joseph Schillinger music. Then he started in 1931 in Philadelphia and from 1934 in New York at CBS Radio as a conductor, arranger and composer to work. He remained until 1947, when radio and worked for shows like The Adventures of Ellery Queen, Radio Reader's Digest, March of Time and The Ford Theatre. From 1947 he lived in Los Angeles, where he was employed from 1947 to 1951 on the Hallmark Playhouse from 1951 to 1989 mainly in television as a composer.

On May 20, 1989 Murray passed away at the age of 79 years to his cancer at Cedars -Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
