Mac Sweeney

David McCann "Mac" Sweeney ( born September 15, 1955 in Wharton, Wharton County, Texas) is an American politician. Between 1985 and 1989 he represented the state of Texas in the U.S. House.

Career

Mac Sweeney attended the common schools and then studied until 1981 at the University of Texas, among others, Jura. In the years 1977 and 1978 he served on the staff of U.S. Senator John Tower. He then worked in the years 1979 and 1980 for the former Governor John Connally, who unsuccessfully sought the nomination of the Republican Party for the presidential elections of 1980 after a change of party in 1973. Between 1981 and 1983, Sweeney served as Director of Administrative Operations in the administrative staff of President Ronald Reagan.

Sweeney also joined the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1984 he was in the 14th electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded William Neff Patman took on January 3, 1985, he had defeated in the election. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1989, two legislative sessions. There he was a member of the Armed Services Committee. In 1988 he was not re-elected. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, he worked as a lawyer for an international law firm on Wall Street in New York City. He then spent two companies in New Jersey and Texas.

Since 1977, Sweeney was for seven years in humanitarian and missionary commitment. He operated from Cairo in five Arab countries. 2004 failed appointment in a leading position of the Peace Corps, because he could not agree on the conditions with the federal government under President George W. Bush. In the same year he was election officials in the first presidential election in Afghanistan. Today he runs from Washington, the Paraclete Group, supports the infrastructure in developing countries. He is also a board member of several non-profit organizations.
