Madder Mortem

Madder Mortem, founded in 1993 under the name Mystery Tribe, is a Norwegian progressive metal band.

Band History

As Mystery Tribe they took in 1993, the Demo Days in Sorrow on. A little later they changed their name to Madder Mortem. Their first release under this name was the Misty Sleep EP in 1997. The official debut album appeared in 1999 Mercury the English label Misanthropy Records, which, however, a short time later broke up, so that the band lost both label and record deal. The departure of three members of the band in the same year presented represents a further setback

After Madder Mortem had re-formed the band in 2000 took on another demo, which earned her a record deal with Century Media. There appeared the second album All Flesh Is Grass, on which the band struck a much harder and more aggressive style of music in 2001.

After a European tour with Tristania, Vintersorg Rotting Christ and in September / October 2001, the band on a new album began to work, which was finally released in October 2002 under the name Deadlands. In February / March 2003 Madder Mortem supported Opeth Deliverance on their tour across Europe. This was followed by appearances at several festivals, including the Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo Norway 2003.

In 2006, during the recording of a new album, the band changed their label and has since been on Peaceville Records, where the fourth album Desiderata was published in the same year.

After a long creative break appeared on May 18, 2009, the new album Eight Ways.
