Side valleys

The two most important side valleys of the Maderanertal are the Etzlital and Brunnital (not to be confused with the Brunnital the Schächental ).

Etzlital

The Etzlital branches at Cholplatz in Bristen off to the south from Maderanertal and has a length of about 8 km. At the valley of the Eztlitals Etzlihütte of the Swiss Alpine Club, from which one can reach through the Chrüzlipass Val Strem in the Grisons is.

Brunnital

By around 12 km long Brunnital flows the fountain of Ibach, which originated in Brunnifirn (or Brunnigletscher ) has. In this valley lies the Hinterbalmhütte and by the Brunnital the rise leads to Cavardirashütte. The latter led to a few years ago about the Brunnifirn, but is now due to the retreat of the glacier in the summer ice-free.

Other side valleys

Between Etzlital and Brunnital there are four other smaller valleys: Lungental, Griese Rental, Staldental with the Staldenfirn and the Chästal. It is striking that all the side valleys of Maderanertales lie south of it.
