Magenta (Paris RER)

The station Magenta (French: Gare du Magenta) is a tunnel station of the Paris RER rapid transit network. It is located between the Gare de Nord and Gare de L' Est in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. It was opened to the commissioning of the RER E line in 1999. There is transit traffic to the RER B and D at Gare du Nord, lines 4 and 5 of the metro. At the Gare du Nord also run nor the long-distance trains TGV, Thalys and Euro Star. The Metro station La Chapelle on the line 2 is also connected to the station. The station is named after the nearby Boulevard de Magenta, the turn of Napoleon III. was named to commemorate the Battle of Magenta.
