The 10th arrondissement of Paris, the Arrondissement de l' Entrepot, is one of Paris' 20 arrondissements.

Geographical location

The 10th arrondissement is located on the right bank of the Seine. It is bordered to the east by the 11th arrondissement, on the south by the third, on the west by the 9th and on the north by the 18th arrondissement.

According to the census of 1999 89.612 inhabitants were reported in the 289 -acre 10th arrondissement. This corresponds to a population density of 31,008 inhabitants per km ². Thus, in this Arrondissement 4.1% of the population of Paris their principal residence.

Mayor

Mayor Rémi Feraud, member of the Socialist Party (PS) since the last election in March 2008. In the 19th century the famous writer Augustin Cochin was mayor of the arrondissement.

  • The painter Jean -Baptiste Camille Corot had his studio in the rue de Paradis 58 and lived in 56 rue du Faubourg - Poissonnière
  • Vincent de Paul lived in the house Saint- Lazare (107 rue du Faubourg -Saint -Denis ) in 1632, where he founded the Congregation of de la Mission, where he preached and died in 1660.
  • Louis Antoine de Fauvelet Bourrienne, private secretary of Napoleon Bonaparte, lived in the rue d' Hauteville.
  • The writer Remy de Gourmont lived between 1880 and 1887 in the 41 rue d' Hauteville.
