Geographical location

The 9th arrondissement is located on the right bank of the Seine. It is bordered on the east by the 10th, in the west on the 8th, in the north on the 18th and on the south by the 2nd arrondissement.

According to the census of 1999 55.838 inhabitants were reported in 218 acres of the 9th arrondissement. This corresponds to a population density of 25,614 inhabitants per km ². Thus, in the arrondissement de l' Opéra 2.5% of the population of Paris have their main residence.
