Magnus Svensson (ice hockey b. 1963)

Magnus Svensson ( * March 1, 1963 in Tranås ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in his time from 1980 to 2002 among others for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.

Career

Magnus Svensson started his career as a hockey player with Tranås AIF for dwn he was active until 1983. Then the defender received a contract with Leksand IF, for which he ran aground in the next seven years in the Elitserien. During this period he was also selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1987 in the twelfth round than a total of 250 players from the Calgary Flames for which, however, he never played. Instead, he ran in the 1990/91 season for HC Lugano in the Swiss National League A. He then returned for three more years after Leksand before the Olympic champion from 1994 signed with HC Davos in the NLA. In parallel, the Swede came in the 1994/95 season at the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League after the Calgary Flames had transferred the rights to the players to Florida.

After Svensson in the 1995/96 season in 27 games scored eleven points scorer for the Panthers in the NHL, he returned a second time after Leksand. There he played until his career end in 2002, with the exception of the 1999/2000 season, in which he was active in the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers in Switzerland.

Internationally

For Sweden Svensson participated in the World Championships in 1987, 1990, 1994 and 1997 and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer part.
