George Bach in Starnberg
The Maisinger Bach ( George Bach) is after the Ostersee -axis with an average water flow of 0,479 m³ / s, the second largest tributary to Lake Starnberg. The area of the catchment area is about 49 square kilometers with about 15 percent of the total catchment area of Lake Starnberg. The Maisinger creek and its tributaries drain a basin between Lake Starnberg and Ammersee, which is bounded on the west and east by the lateral moraines of the glacier tongues of würmeiszeitlichen Isar Loisach glacier.
The Maisinger Bach arises from several source streams, which take their origin in Kerschlacher Forest, a wooded moraine northeast of Kerschlach that. From now on, the water flows as a pond creek in a northeasterly direction, fed partly artificially dammed Maisinger lake but flows mostly under the name Fallenbach east on Maisinger past the lake. Combines with the outflow of the lake, the waters flowing Maisinger as Maisinger Bach by Maising (municipality Pöcking ) and by the Maisinger ravine about 30 meters into the lateral moraine of Lake Starnberg cut. After about 2.2 km of Maisinger stream leaves the canyon and flows through Söcking (city Starnberg ) continue to Starnberg. Within the city of Starnberg, the water stream is called George. It flows mostly in a brick gutter, which is partly built over. About 400 meters before it flows into Lake Starnberg is a gauging station of the Water Management Office Weilheim.
