Malefice

Malefice is an English heavy metal band from Reading, Berkshire, which currently stands at Metal Blade Records.

History

Malefice was founded during college by Dale Butler, Alex Vuskans, Craig Thomas and Craig Fenner; their first gig they played in the Rivermead Centre in Reading. After several appearances in Reading and London they got at Hangmans Joke a record deal and published there in 2006 their first six song EP called Relentless.

After Malefice changed in the spring of 2007 on Anti Culture Records, they started the recordings for the first studio album Entities, which was released in August 2007. To the song Risen Through the Ashes a music video was filmed. As recently as 2007 was followed by tours with bands like Devildriver and God Forbid.

In January 2008, the band in the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth had a gig that you took up and publish to DVD wants. In June 2008, Malefice played at the Download Festival in Leicestershire.

In November 2008, it was announced on the MySpace page of the band that they have signed a worldwide record deal with Metal Blade Records.

On 27 February 2009, the second studio album Dawn of Reprisal was published.

A previously unbeitelte EP appear in May. On it will be heard for the first time the new drummer James Pearly Cook.

Style

The music of Malefice is influenced by Thrash Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Death Metal and Progressive Metal, so it is difficult to assign an exact style of music the band, and you best be summarized under the term Extreme Metal style.
