Malfunkshun

The band Malfunkshun ( malfunction combination of English, " malfunction " and the music style funk, 1979-1987 ) was one of the original bands of Mother Love Bone, and was by the brothers Andy Wood ( bas, vocals), Kevin Wood (guitar ) and their common friend Reagan Hagar ( drm ) founded in Seattle.

Musical direction

Malfunkshun was located in the glam rock and funk of the 1970s and mixed it with a futuristic appearance (Andy was usually painted white and wore thick lipstick ). The songs were mostly about love, but also from drug abuse. According to Andy were Malfunkshun a " Love- rock band " as opposed to the then prevailing " satanic " bands in the metal scene.

Resolution

Andy Wood began after his first rehab to already, as L' Andrew the Love Child solo to hoof it through the small clubs and bars of Seattle, as with Green River one of the most famous bands of the scene on Halloween night in 1987 disbanded. Andy worked with Jeff Ament (then bassist of Green River, and later Pearl Jam ) together and was invited by the latter to samples with Stone Gossard and Bruce Fairweather (both guitarists from Green River). After initial hesitation, out of consideration for his brother, he accepted the offer as a singer, took Reagan Hagar as a drummer with, and there was the new band, initially under the name Lords of the Wasteland which within three months without Hagar to Mother Love Bone been.
