Malvar (grape)

Malvar is an indigenous white grape of Spain. Their cultivation is recommended in the regions of Castilla -La Mancha and Madrid and approved in the areas of Extremadura. She finds it way into the white wines of the DO Mondéjar, Ribera del Guadiana and Vinos de Madrid. In the 1990s, an area under vines of 3,795 hectares was raised, of which about 2,000 acres near Madrid.

The late maturing variety produces light, rustic wines, but due to their acidity can be fresh and of the character perfectly. It is sporadically used as a table grape.
