Malý Cetín

Maly Cetín ( until 1927 slovak " Maly Citýň "; Kleinzitin German, Hungarian Kiscétény ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 388 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Nitra, a part of the Nitriansky kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located on the western edge of the hill country Žitavská pahorkatina ( part of the Danube 's hill country ) on the lower reaches of Nitra. The center is located at an altitude of 135 m nm and is 13 kilometers away from Nitra.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1113 as Syrinc writing and was then a good of the monastery on Zobor. After the 15th century it belonged to the archbishopric of Gran, which leased the village nobles of Velky Cetín. 1787 were counted 39 houses and 217 inhabitants in 1828 38 houses and 265 inhabitants.

Until 1918, belonged to the lying in the county Neutra place the Kingdom of Hungary and came after Czechoslovakia or Slovakia today.

From 1960 to 1990 Maly Cetín was merged with the neighboring community Čechynce in the community Nitrany.

Population

2011 lived in the village of 388 inhabitants, of whom 349 Slovaks, 33 Magyars, two Czechs, one Serb and one other ethnic group, at 2 inhabitants, the ethnic group is not found. 778 residents pleaded with the Roman Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church AB 4 inhabitants 19 inhabitants were non-denominational and 9 inhabitants, the denomination is not determined.
