Malý Slavkov

Maly Austerlitz ( German Klein Schlagendorf, Hungarian Kisszalók ) is a municipality in the north of Slovakia with 953 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Kežmarok, a part of the Prešov Region.

Geography

The municipality is located in the pelvis Popradská kotlina ( part of the larger Podtatranská kotlina ) by the stream Slavkovský jarok under the High Tatras. The center is located at an altitude of 652 m nm and is located four kilometers from Kežmarok.

History

Maly Austerlitz was first mentioned in 1251 as Zolok writing and was at the beginning of a border village on the northern edge of the former Hungarian state in the shadow of the city Käsmark.

From 1974 to 1995 Maly Austerlitz was part of the city Kežmarok.
