Man Mohan Sharma

Man Mohan Sharma ( born May 1, 1937 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan ) is an Indian chemical engineer. He was educated at Jodhpur, Mumbai and Cambridge University. At the age of 27, he was appointed Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Department of Chemical Technology of the University of Mumbai. Later he became the Director of the MUICT.

In 1976 he was elected member of the Indian National Science Academy. In 1990, he was - even as the first Indian engineer - elected as a member of the Royal Society, in 1996 the Leverhulme Medal " for his work on the dynamics of multiphase chemical reactions in industrial processes " gave him. In 2001 he received the second- highest Indian civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan.
