History

After 1460 the county seat was established in Velas, began the colonization of the island of São Jorge. 1510 originated in Manadas first church. Since 1559 Manadas is an independent municipality, and thus one of the first six parishes.

Management

Manadas is the seat of an eponymous municipality ( Freguesia ). The following villages are in the community:
