Mandarin Oriental, Singapore

The Oriental Singapore is a five- star hotel in the city-state of Singapore. It has 524 rooms, 3 restaurants, coffee shop, bars, a shopping arcade, a swimming pool with children's pool, a spa tub, a sauna, a fitness center and a spa. It is located close to the Marina Bay and the Merlion Park, about 22 km to the Singapore airport and 6 km from the commercial center.

History

The original building was designed by the architecture firm John Portman & Associates, Altlanta / USA, and DP Architects Pte Ltd. , Singapore. The hotel was opened under the name of The Oriental Singapore 1987.

Conversion and renaming

Between August 2004 and March 2005, the building was fundamentally transformed. For this, the hotel operation was interrupted by the August and 30 November 2004. The operation was partially resumed on the following day and continue without starting in March 2005. As part of the renovation, the hotel has been extensively modernized and adapted to the prevailing taste. The new design was elaborated by LTW Design Works, a company that is also the same group of companies belonging to The Oriental Bangkok had revised. Both houses are operated by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

On 25 September 2007, the house was renamed Mandarin Oriental
