Mandrevillars

Mandrevillars is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Mandrevillars situated at an altitude of 369 m above sea level, about seven kilometers southwest of the town of Belfort ( a straight line ). The village is located in the western part of the Burgundian Gate, in a wide valley north of Mont Vaudois.

The area of ​​3.03 km ² municipal area includes a portion in the Burgundian Gate. The central part of the area is traversed in a north-south direction of a stream, a part of the upper catchment area of ​​the Ruisseau de Brevilliers (tributary of Lizaine ). Is flanked this trough in the east of the crest of the Bois du Mont, on the 443 meters, the highest elevation of Mandrevillars is achieved. To the west stretches a gently undulating plateau, which lies approximately 380 m and is composed of marly sediments of the Lias ( Lower Jurassic ) and Triassic. The northwestern boundary runs in a valley at the foot of the forest height Brisée.

Neighboring communities of Mandrevillars are Châlonvillars in the north, Buc in the east, Échenans -sous -Mont- Vaudois in the south and Chagey in the West.

History

The territory of Mandrevillars was already inhabited in prehistoric times, of which traces from the Neolithic period to the hallway Sous- la- Côte and a burial ground from the La Tène period testify to the hallway Combeaufol. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the rule Montbéliard. In 1748 came Mandrevillars, which was until then under the suzerainty of the principality of Montbéliard, contractually definitively to the French crown. In 1972 Mandrevillars was merged with Châlonvillars, but got it back its independence in 1988. Since 2001 Mandrevillars is a member of the comprehensive 20 villages Joint Authority Pays d' Héricourt.

Population

With 221 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Mandrevillars one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had been in the first half of the 20th century, mostly in the range between 80 and 100 people, a continuous population growth was recorded since the early 1970s. Since then, the population has more than doubled.

Economy and infrastructure

Mandrevillars was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) embossed village. Even today, working in the village inhabitants live on the merits of the activity in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in the village. However, many of the working commuters who do their work in Héricourt and in the agglomerations Belfort and Montbéliard.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Brevilliers after Châlonvillars. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about ten kilometers. Another road connection with Buc.
