Manfredi Nicoletti

Manfredi Nicoletti ( born June 16, 1930 in Rieti ) is an Italian architect.

Life

Manfredi Nicoletti, Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects ( FAIA ), has begun his training with the artist Giacomo Balla. From 1949 to 1954 he studied architecture at the " La Sapienza University " in Rome. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA ) in 1955, he received a Master's degree in Architecture ( studying with Buckminster Fuller, Pietro Belluschi and Eero Saarinen ). After an internship in the architectural firm of Walter Gropius, he worked for Minoru Yamasaki in New York City. In 1965 he founded in France with Paul Maymont, Yona Friedman and Michel Ragon Groupe International d'Architecture Prospective ( GIAP ). Since 1963, Nicoletti is also active as a lecturer, first at the Rhode Iceland School of Design, and later in Italy. He is 1980-1988 Professor in Palermo, then in Rome. In 2009 he was nominated as professor emeritus in the architecture of the La Sapienza University in Rome. Manfredi Nicoletti is Vice President of the International Academy of Architecture, an honorary member of the Architectural Academies of Russia, France and Moscow. In 2009 he was nominated by the French Government to Commandeur dans l' Ordre des Arts et Lettres. He runs his architectural office "Studio Nicoletti Associati " in Rome since 1957.
