History

Manhunt International 1987 was due to a resulting local beauty contest for men in Singapore. Alex Liu, organizers of beauty contests for Metromedia Singapore had this set up. With the competitions Lord products should be more marketable. On 30 November 1993, Liu held with his Australian business partner Rosko Dickinson the first international beauty contest for men on the Australian Gold Coast. In the exclusively female jury majority were international fashion journalists. It won the 26 -year-old Berlin student Thomas Sasse, who was able to prevail against 24 competitors and was awarded a bonus of 10,000 Australian dollars.

In 1995, the final was first broadcast on TV in 39 countries and pursued by approximately 420 million viewers. In 2005, the event has been in South Korea -sponsored by Mercedes Benz. A year later Manhunt International reached at his host in China a billion viewers worldwide. Previously held exclusively in Asia and Australia, the event outside these two continents is poorly understood. Although no immediate plans exist to host the beauty contest in the U.S., the organizers are hoping for a greater perception in the Western world.
