Manuel Orantes

Manuel Orantes ( born February 6, 1949 in Granada ) is a former Spanish tennis player.

He won three times in his career, the Spanish Open, but the highlights of his career were winning the U.S. Open in Forest Hills, as he in the final to top-seeded Jimmy Connors defeated smooth on 7 September 1975 in three sets and the victory at the Masters in Houston in 1976. Overall Orantes won 33 singles titles and 22 doubles title. On August 23, 1973, he was out in second position in the world rankings.

Orantes was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2012.
