Marcel Bitsch
Marcel Bitsch ( born December 29, 1921 in Paris, † 21 September 2011 in Paris) was a French composer.
Bitsch studied from 1939 at the Paris Conservatory with Jean Gallon harmony, with Noël Gallon counterpoint and Paul -Marie Masson musicology. In 1945 he won the Prix de Rome. Since 1956 he was professor of counterpoint at the Conservatoire.
He composed a comic opera, a ballet, symphonic and chamber music, and numerous instrumental pieces for the music competitions at the Conservatoire. In addition, he also published several musicological writings.
