Marcelino Palentini

Marcelino Palentini SCI ( born September 17, 1943 in Caldogno, Vicenza, Italy; † 18 September 2011 in San Salvador de Jujuy, Jujuy Province, Argentina) was a Roman Catholic religious priest and Bishop of Jujuy.

Career

Marcelino Palentini joined the Congregation of the Dehonians and received on 27 June 1970, the ordination.

On 11 July 1995 he was appointed by Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop of Jujuy, headquartered in San Salvador de Jujuy. He received his episcopal consecration on October 7, 1995, the Archbishop Emeritus of Resistencia, Juan José Iriarte; Carmelo Juan Giaquinta were co-consecrators, Archbishop of Resistencia, and Pedro Rivero María Olmedo CMF, Bishop of Humahuaca.

In the Argentine Episcopal Conference, he was a member of the committees for the mission and help the neediest regions. He was a delegate of the pastoral region of Northwest Argentina (NOA ).

Palentini died of a brain tumor. He was buried in the chapel of the Virgen del Rosario del Rio Blanco and PayPay in San Salvador de Jujuy.
