Carmelo Juan Giaquinta

Carmelo Juan Giaquinta ( born June 22, 1930 in Buenos Aires, † 22 June 2011) was an Argentine priest and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Resistencia.

Life

Carmelo Juan Giaquinta received on 4 April 1953, and was ordained priest incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires.

John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on March 11, 1980 in Viedma and Titular Bishop of Zama Minor. The Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Juan Carlos Cardinal Aramburu, donated to him on 30 May of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Miguel Esteban Hesayne, Bishop of Viedma, and Octavio Nicolás DeRisi, Auxiliary Bishop of La Plata.

On 16 June 1986 he was appointed bishop of Posadas. On March 22, 1993, he was appointed Archbishop of Resistencia and introduced into the office on June 6th of the same year. From his office he resigned on 1 April 2005.
