Marco d'Agrate

Marco d' Agrate (* 1504, † by 1574 in Milan ) was an Italian sculptor of the Cinquecento.

D' Agrate came from a Lombard family of sculptors and first appeared as an artist of the tomb of Sforzino Sforza, a collaborative effort with his brother Gianfrancesco for the Basilica of Santa Maria della Steccata in Parma in appearance. For the year 1522 d' Agrate is first documented in the service of the Milan Cathedral. From 1541 to 1571 he was involved in the work on the facade of the north of Pavia nearby monastery Certosa di Pavia. In 1547 d' Agrate working on figures for the sarcophagi in the Milanese church of San Nazaro in Brolo. Between 1556 and 1558 he worked at the Tomb of Giovanni del Conte in the Basilica di San Lorenzo di Milano. Among the best known works include the 1562 d' Agrates resulting statue of St. Bartholomew in the Milan Cathedral.
