Marcus Perperna (consul 92 BC)

Marcus Perperna ( inscriptions also Perpenna; * ca 147 BC, † 49 BC) was a Roman senator of the late Republic.

He was son of the consul 130 BC; probably was Gaius Perperna, legate 90 BC, his brother. Marcus Perperna must have been later than BC, praetor in 95 years, since he was consul ( with Gaius Claudius Pulcher ) in the year 92 BC. 86 BC Perperna was censor. Together with his colleague Lucius Marcius Philippus he took for the first time after the Social War Italians in the Roman citizenship on.

Perperna reached a very old age and died at 98 years; he shall have all survived that were his consulate senators year. Maybe Marcus was Perperna, praetor 82 BC, trailers and murderers of Quintus Sertorius, his son. Perpernas daughter Perpennia is mentioned for the year 69 BC as a Vestal Virgin.
