Marechal Deodoro, officially Municipio de Marechal Deodoro, is a Brazilian city in the state of Alagoas. The population was according to the census of 2010 45.977 residents who Deodorenser be called. History

The city was founded in 1611 as Vila Madalena de Sumaúna and later by Manuel Deodoro da Fonseca was named 1817-1839 the capital of Alagoas, before it was replaced by the 28 kilometer north-east, situated on the Atlantic coast of Maceió.
