Marek Krejčí

Marek Krejčí ( born November 20, 1980 in Bratislava, † May 26, 2007 near Maitenbeth, Upper Bavaria ) was a Slovak national football team.

Career

The striker started his footballing career at Inter Bratislava. In November 2000 he moved to first division club Spartak Trnava, before joining the club Gyori ETO FC Hungary in September 2001. In the summer of 2003 Krejčí signed a contract with the Slovak runner Artmedia Bratislava, with whom he won the Slovakian Cup in season 2003/ 04. He helped FC Artmedia runner-up in the Slovakian league. He was with 15 goals second top scorer in the league.

Since August 2004 Krejčí played in the German second division side SV Wacker Burghausen, with whom he descended the end of the 2006/07 season as the second last table in the Regionalliga. In the 2006/2007 season he scored seven goals in 28 games; total he met in 87 second division games 26 times.

After Krejčí had already denied some games in the Slovakian junior football team, he made his debut on 31 March 2004 in the jersey of the Slovak national football team; in the 1-1 draw against Slovakia Austria Krejčí denied the first half, but was replaced after the break for Róbert Vittek. It was his only game for the Slovak national team.

Death

In the early morning of May 26, 2007 Krejčí came on the highway 12 in his Audi S3 near the Upper Bavarian Maitenbeth of the roadway down, hit a tree and was trapped in his car. The fire department was only able to recover him dead. Krejčí was traveling alone and in the accident, no other vehicles were involved. He leaves behind his wife and a ten-year adopted daughter. The shirt number 11, which was Krejčí is no longer awarded in his honor in the future at SV Wacker Burghausen.
