Maria Cino

Maria Cino ( born 1957 in Buffalo, New York) is an American politician.

Biography

Cino graduated from the St. John Fisher College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA). Her professional career began as a staff member of the Republican National Committee, the national organization committee of the U.S. Republican Party, which is responsible for the coordination of fundraising, coordination of campaign strategy, and the development and nation -wide representation of the political positions of the party as a whole. There she was, first from 1981 to 1983 director of the Programme for Political Education and later Director of Local Programs. She was most recently 1985-1986 Administrative Assistant to the Political Director of the National Committee.

She then worked as an analyst for American Viewpoint, before it was 1989-1993 Chief of Staff Members of the U.S. House of Representatives for the 31st electoral district of New York, Bill Paxon. In the following years she was until 1997 Director of Administration and Chief Operating Officer (COO ) of the Republican National Committee. From 1999 to 2000 she was the first National Political Director of " Bush for President, Inc." and then to 2001 Deputy Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

After the inauguration of George W. Bush as U.S. president in 2001, she was Assistant to the Minister of Commerce ( Commerce Assistant Secretary ) and also Director General of Foreign Trade Service.

During Bush's second term in 2005 she was First Deputy Minister for Transport ( Deputy Secretary of Transportation ) before until October 17, 2006 Acting for the retiring Norman Mineta Secretary of Transportation ( Secretary of Transportation) was on 8 July. In March 2007, she was Chief Operating Officer of the organizing committee for the Republican National Convention in 2008.

In January 2011 she applied for the chair of the Republican National Committee. The election by the party delegates Reince Priebus scored in the seventh round of voting with 97 votes, the absolute majority; Cino, who had temporarily occupied the second place in the polls, ultimately finishing third behind Saul Anuzis.
