Bill Paxon

L. William " Bill" Paxon ( born April 29, 1954 in Buffalo, New York) is an American politician. Between 1989 and 1999 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives. Congresswoman Susan Molinari is his wife.

Career

Bill Paxon graduated in 1968 at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo. He attended Fordham University in New York City. In 1977 he received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Canisius College in Buffalo. Between 1978 and 1982 he sat in the Erie County Legislature and 1982-1988 in the New York State Assembly. Politically, he belongs to the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1988 for the 101st Congress Paxon was the 31st electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Jack Kemp on 4 January 1989. He was re-elected once. In 1992 he stood as a candidate in the 27th electoral district of New York for the 103rd Congress. After a successful election, he stepped on 4 January 1993 the successor of James T. Walsh. He was re-elected twice in a row. Since he gave up for reelection in 1998, he retired after January 3, 1999 from the Congress.
