María Isabel Siewers

María Isabel Siewers ( born October 22, 1950) is an Argentine guitarist.

Life

She studied guitar at María Luisa Anido and at the Conservatory " Manuel de Falla " in Buenos Aires. She was a master student of Andrés Segovia in Santiago de Compostela and studied with Oscar Ghiglia, Ruggero Chiesa and Alain Meunier at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana and Abel Carlevaro and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.

Isabel Siewers occurred worldwide, at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Martinu Hall in Prague, Carnegie Hall in New York and at the Théâtre des Champs- Élysées in Paris. International Orchestra were their partners, such as the Argentine National Symphony Orchestra, Virtuosi di Praga, the Zagreb Radio and TV Symphony Orchestra, the South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, the Kraków Philharmonic and the Mayo Chamber Orchestra.

She taught in Argentina and since 1989 professor of guitar at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
