Maria Teresa Agnesi Pinottini

Maria Teresa Agnesi Pinottini ( born October 17, 1720 in Milan, † January 19, 1795 ibid ) was an Italian composer and harpsichordist.

Life

The younger sister Maria Gaetana Agnesi mathematician was born the third child of Pietro Agnesi di Monteviglia. On her musical talent is soon noticed and she became a student of the violinist and composer Carlo Zuccari. One of her classmates was Giorgio Giulini, who later took part in the founding of the " Accademia dei Trasformati " where Agnesi was also a member. During their performances as harpsichordist led mainly on works of Jean -Philippe Rameau.

As a first work Agnesis the Shepherd cantata Il ristoro d' Arcadia was listed in 1747 at the Teatro Ducale, the predecessor of La Scala. After the death of Pietro Agnesis 1752 was Pietro Antonio Pinottini marry what her father had been denied her. As 1770 Leopold Mozart traveled to Italy to introduce his son, contacts were established with Agnesi Pinottini, which presumably also led to a lively exchange of ideas. From the following year no longer works Agnesis are known. They fell into a financial crisis and had to ask for help one of her sisters. Two years after her husband's death she died childless.
