Marianne Jelved

Marianne Bruus Jelved ( born September 5, 1943 in Charlottenlund, Gentofte Municipality) is a Danish politician, the social-liberal party Det Radical Venstre (RV). She was long-standing parliamentary leader and policy spokesperson. On 6 December 2012, she returned as Minister of Culture back in the cabinet.

Life

Jelved studied at the Pedagogical Seminar in Hellerup and was 1967-1987 worked as a Danish teacher.

Since 1987 Jelved is a brief interruption in 1993/94 Member of the Folketing. There they took over 1988-1993, 2001-2007 and again 2011-2012 the group's presidency of the RV. At the same time they occupied the important post of Political Affairs spokeswoman.

Jelved was 1993-2001 Minister of Economic Affairs in the governments Nyrup Rasmussen I, II Nyrup Rasmussen, Nyrup Rasmussen III and IV Nyrup Rasmussen, since 1994 also Minister for Nordic Cooperation.

2006 brought the RV claim to be elect Jelved at the next opportunity to head of government. After intra-party quarrels about this very promising strategy of power Jelved left the former Education Minister Margrethe Vestager on 15 June 2007, the party leadership, but remained as an education policy spokesperson in the fraction active.

With the return of the RV in the government 2011 Jelved again took over the group's presidency, during the ministerial posts were preferably distributed among the young talents of the party. At the same time, she worked as Deputy Speaker of Parliament the Folketing. After her party colleague Uffe Elbæk had resigned as Minister of Culture, they took over on December 6, 2012 this post.
