Margravine of Baden Mary Jacqueline (* June 25, 1507, † November 16, 1580 in Munich) was by marriage Duchess of Bavaria.

Life

Jacqueline Mary was the daughter of Margrave Philip I of Baden (1479-1533) and Countess Palatine Elisabeth (1483-1522), daughter of the Elector Palatine Philip and Princess Margaret of Bavaria -Landshut. Your paternal grandparents were Margrave Christoph I of Baden and the Countess Ottilie von Katzenelenbogen.

On October 5, 1522 married Countess Maria Jakobäa in Munich, the Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria ( 1493-1550 ), eldest son of Duke Albrecht IV and the Archduchess of Austria Cunegonde. From this marriage of the flying buttress in the first courtyard of the castle should bear witness to Burghausen, which is painted with the Bavarian and Baden insignia and the year 1523.

Shortly after the marriage her husband fell into madness, and supposedly the ducal court at Jülich was Jakobäas hand to a " sin city ". 1595 was therefore sued by the emperor, but before he had a verdict, Jacqueline 1957 found strangled in her bed; as alleged perpetrator is considered the sister Sybille.
