Marie Paradis

Marie Paradis (* 1778 in Bourgeat ( Chamonix ), † 1839) ascended in the summer of 1808, the first woman to Mont Blanc.

Jacques Balmat, who had climbed together with Michel -Gabriel Paccard on August 8, 1786 as the first Mont Blanc and two other mountain guide, the young woman spontaneously took with them on their tour, where they carried on some track parts. When they were successfully returned, Paradis was named " Marie Mont Blanc " to a celebrity the region and opened a thriving tearoom. Through its ascent the Augsburg Ordinaries Mail newspaper wrote:

As a second wife and their own efforts reached Henriette d' Angeville 1838 the summit of Mont Blanc.
