Marina Alta

Marina Alta is a Spanish comarca, a county. It is located in the province of Alicante, in the Valencia region. The capital of the Marina Alta, Denia.

Location

Marina Alta is located in the far north of the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. Both the sea and the mountains dominate the landscape. There are numerous rocks, hills and stones. The most famous is the Peñón de Ifach in Calpe, but there are also other rocks as the Cabo de San Antonio, the Cabo de San Martín and the Cabo de la Nao. Among the most famous mountain ranges include the Sierra de Bernia and the Montgo.

Economics

The traditional economic sectors, agriculture and fishing are still very important in the Comarca. Nevertheless, it depends more and more on tourism from, because since the 60s, he is booming on the Costa Blanca.
