Benitachell / El Poble Nou de Benitatxell

(El Poble Nou de ) Benitatxell ( Valencian, [ benitatʃeʎ ]; German: The new village Benitatxell; Benitachell Spanish ) is a city in the Valencian Community, belonging to the province of Alicante. Benitatxell has 5720 inhabitants ( 1 January 2013), of which 3640 (70 % ) are foreigners, mostly from other EU countries, mainly from the UK.

The center of Benitatxell located inland, but the local area is part of a 2 km long coastline on the Mediterranean. The town is located south of the tourist center Javea.

On the coast of Benitatxell joins the underground river Moraig. In his widely ramified, still not fully explored cave system were previously three cave diver died. You searched for the point from which the fresh water of the Moraig is pure enough to establish a well for drinking water.
