Mario Astorri

Mario Astorri ( born August 7, 1920 Piacenza; † 3 December 1989) was an Italian football player and coach, who played during his playing career for numerous clubs in Italy.

Career

Mario Astorri began his career in 1939 in the U.S. Mestrina in Serie C. Two years later he moved to Calcio Schio in 1905, in 1942 he joined the SPAL. In the War Championship 1944, he went for the SSC Venice hunting for goals and returned a year later to Ferrara back. A year later signed the midfielder for Juventus, for whom he played but again only a year and then moved on to Atalanta. His most successful period witnessed Astorri at Napoli, for which he was active from 1949 to 1953. In 88 Serie A appearances for Napoli he scored 32 goals and then moved to AC Monza Brianza. Later, the midfielder was briefly active for the amateur club Cenisia and ended in 1956, his active career.

After his career end Astorri worked as a coach in Denmark. His greatest success was about winning the Danish championship in 1974 with the Kjøbenhavns Bold Club.
